Gala Awards Nomination

Monday, January 5th, 2009

We are proud and delighted to be among the nominees for this year’s annual Gala Awards. What are the Gala Awards? Here’s how the award organizers describe them:

“The Gala Awards have been given by Special Events Magazine, the premier industry publication, since 1986, when the awards honored the ‘top 10 events of 1985.’ They recognize the finest work in special events worldwide.

For the 2008 Gala Awards, the magazine received nearly 400 entries in 35 categories from Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, England, Germany, Spain, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and the United States.”

We were nominated for Annie Rose Brown’s Bat Mitzvah. Annie Rose was her name but she was no wallflower and this would be no ordinary party. Typical little girl fare would not do … roses on steroids anyone?!

On March 8, 2008 at Center Stage in Charlotte, N.C., that’s what 236 of her guests experienced. Hot pink beehive-wigged servers right out of “The Whos from Whoville meet Miami Beach” greeted our guests, while origami rose place cards, trees of paper roses and floating plexiglass buffets dressed up like overblown parade floats made a splash, and our Roller Derby Rose Girl gave them the finale they deserved.

We are so grateful to our clients Tracy and Larry Brown for their trust and confidence and sweet Annie Rose for her energy and funky style.

The design of any event always originates with the client and the Brown’s sense of fun was what made “Everything’s Coming Up Roses” so wonderful.
